About these terms

This website, www.focusvision.com.au, is run by Focus Vision ("we", "us"), a private eye clinic at 87 Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba QLD 4102. These terms apply when you use the website. By using it, you agree to them.

They sit alongside our privacy policy and our medical and website disclaimer. If you become a patient, the information, consent forms and written quote you receive at your consultation set out the terms of your treatment, and they take priority over anything on this website.

Information on this website

Our articles and treatment pages are general information, not medical advice for you. Whether a treatment suits your eyes can only be decided at a full assessment. Please don't use the website, email or our forms for urgent problems: if you have sudden loss of vision, severe eye pain or an eye injury, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

We aim to keep the website accurate and up to date. Each article shows the date it was last reviewed, but medical knowledge, prices and health fund rules change. We may update or remove content at any time, and we can't promise the website will always be available.

Enquiries and bookings

• You can contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp, our enquiry forms, or online booking through HealthEngine.
• An online booking or enquiry is a request. Your appointment is confirmed when our team confirms it with you.
• Your first assessment with our optometrist is free. A consultation with a specialist surgeon is paid, and the fee is deducted from the surgery price if you go ahead.
• If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please give us as much notice as you can on (07) 3239 5005.
• Our online suitability test is a guide only. Our team reviews your answers, and your suitability is confirmed only after a full assessment of your eyes.

Prices and quotes

• Prices on our costs page are per eye starting prices, and the page explains what each one includes. Prescribed medications and eye drops are extra.
• Your exact cost depends on your eyes and the treatment recommended. It is set out in a written quote after your consultation. Prices on the website may change, but the price in your written quote is the one that applies to you.
• Our enhancement policy explains when enhancements are included.
• Information about Medicare and private health insurance is general. Please check your own cover with your health fund.
• We accept payment through humm, a third-party credit provider. Focus Vision does not provide credit; any loan is between you and humm, on humm's terms.

Our online tools for surgeons

The Refractive Outcomes Analyzer is a free tool for eye surgeons and other eye care professionals. It has its own terms of use, which you accept before using it. Files you open in it are processed in your browser and not uploaded to us. CAIRSPlan is a separate website with its own terms. These tools support, and do not replace, a professional's own clinical judgement.

The content on this website, including text, photos, videos, illustrations and our logo, belongs to Focus Vision or the people who licensed it to us, unless stated otherwise. You may:

• view, print or download pages for your own personal use;
• share links to any page;
• quote a short extract, if you name Focus Vision and link to the original page.

Please don't copy or republish whole articles, images or videos, use our content for commercial purposes, or use our name or logo, without our written permission. Published research we link to remains under its own licence.

Linking to our website

You are welcome to link to any page of our website, as long as the link is not misleading and doesn't suggest that we endorse you or your products. Please don't display our pages inside a frame on another website, or use our logo for a link, without our permission.

We link to other websites, such as medical journals, government sites and product manufacturers. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content.
