About David Gunn
Dr David Gunn is a corneal, cataract and laser eye surgeon and the co-founder of Focus Vision in Brisbane, where he practises alongside Dr Brendan Cronin. He graduated with first-class honours from the University of Queensland and completed subspecialty fellowship training at the Bristol Eye Hospital and the London Vision Clinic in the UK.
Dr Gunn was the first surgeon in Australia to perform the CLEAR lenticule extraction procedure and performed the first CAIRS procedure in Australia and New Zealand. He practises at the Queensland Eye Institute, holds a public appointment at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and co-created the CAIRSPlan surgical planning tool used by corneal surgeons worldwide. His special interests include laser vision correction, implantable contact lenses, keratoconus and complex corneal surgery.
